You know, if we do end up being able to live on Mars, then when we want to introduce where we live with some sort of detail to people living from the other planet, it might end up being quite a mouthful. We'd have to add "Earth" to the end of our address. Like:

Clementi, Singapore, Earth (3 pieces of info)
Drake Street, Vancouver, Canada, Earth (4 pieces of info)
Downtown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, Earth (5 pieces of info)
Some street, some area, some zone, some region, Mars (5 pieces of info)

Don't ask why I was thinking about this. I…

Just watched a DVD of a Rod Stewart concert. I have to say he can be quite entertaining. Never thought I would say this but I would like to go to his concert with my mom if the opportunity arises.

He dresses well, speaks well, and he knows his stuff. He makes you feel comfortable, like you can trust him, and ideally, he would be an honest reliable person. He leads yet possesses no airs, he shares his knowledge freely so that people around him become better people. Helps if he looks good too.

In case you were wondering, I was talking about Mr. Right as far as work is concerned, although upon reading what I just wrote, it sounds very much like a personal ad. “SAF (single asian female) seeking handsome, pleasant, reliable, knowledgeable man, etc, etc, etc. “Oh well.…

Yesterday night we found a fish outside our door. It was from the neighbour's indoor pond located about nine feet from the door. We had no idea how the fish made it that far - the pond wall is about knee high and that little fish definitely was not built to leap out that far.

The poor guy was still breathing, we figured he might not have been out of water for that long. For a moment Melvyn and I were motionless, we just stared at the fish and wondered what we would do. Finally we took one of our small…

In the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding, Julianne (Julia Roberts) has a pact with her best friend, Michael (Dermot Mulroney), that if they do not get married by 28, they will marry each other. That was Plan B. (Plan A, of course, would be that they would find someone before then, although Julianne certainly was not counting on Plan A to come through.) My friends and I joke about doing that sometimes - making these pacts so that we have a backup plan to eternal singleness.

I was catching up with Mr. ROTC the other day and he was telling me…

Mr. Trees is currently writing his thesis on "Ecological Restoration of Urban Singapore" (or something like that). I think he has got some good ideas brewing and I hope he enjoys writing it. This is my piece to express my support.

They say that Singapore is one of the "greenest" cities in the world - I guess the Boys in White are happy about that. I think we can do better because it is still too hot. Take today for example. It is steamin', man! We are stuck at the equator, and no amount of air-conditioning will ever solve this situation…

So I heard that the local news agency was recruiting newscasters, why not give it a shot? You never know how far you will get. Today, I can humbly say I know I will not get very far.

I always thought all newscasters had to do was read the teleprompter. Therefore, all you need to do is be confident, read and speak properly. What is so hard about that? So I sent in my resume. They called me in for an aptitude test this week.

Now you have to understand it has been eons since I took a test for anything.…

So, azzamac invited me to his studio to do some recording of some scripts the other day. Quite an experience.

First, the place. When we think of DJs, the image we see in the movies comes up. The gargantuan headphones, the immense switchboard, the microphone hanging overhead, the big comfy chair, the PC by your side, the big glass window for people to look through. Azzamac's studio was the same, just smaller. It was nice though, a cozy room.

Second, the script. You know the comfortable feeling you get when you tune in to your favorite DJ? I always wonder how…
